The latest Month 5 figures for the White Elephant Enclosure show that income for the month of August was £8,894 against expenditure of £24,794, meaning a loss of £15,894.
This sum is slightly less than the estimated £16,000 loss, but it should be noted that this loss does not include the money paid to the Top Secret Consultant employed on the advice of the Top Secret Consultants, nor does it include a salary for a Smalltown Culture and Arts Manager.
Box office income of £9,194 was included, but a negative amount of £1,294 entered under the heading ‘Film Income’ saw the final total depleted. However as the month of August only saw two tickets, ten pounds worth, sold for a Five Film club screening, it is difficult to understand how the bbox office revenue figure was achieved. Ah, sweet mystery of creative accounting.
Meanwhile questions have been asked by an artist who displayed paintings in an Art Exhibition at the end of last year. Two of the paintings were sold, yet so far the artist has not received payment. This is obviously yet another scheme designed to make the WEE income look better – sell the art on behalf of the artist, but don’t hand over the cash
