Smalltown’s Media Tycoon, Mike Newell, is bidding for a job with SomersetClive, by publishing non-stories, rather than news.
Instead of running with the news on everyone’s lips about the vacancy on Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council he has instead chosen to highlight the appointment of a new Bell-Ringer in the nearby village of Dumpsbill.
When quizzed as to why he felt that it was more important than stories such as the Smalltown Seasonal Christmas Civil War he replied “The news of a new Bell-Ringer IS important. He will be responsible for overseeing the big restoration project which took place over the summer and saw 94 hours of hand polishing on the East Bell, not used for 10 years, and a new West Bell which was last used 20 years ago.”

When we thanked him for his valuable insight he replied “This is a great example of good multi-agency working with a positive ending. Although on this occasion it seems you didn’t need my help with this story, do feel free to call again if you get stuck. I’m happy to help.”
