Lady Brassy of Easton under Water has recently been caught out making snide comments about this weekend’s fun event for residents. The Drive-in cinema at Pinnacle Park has been fully-booked by locals and has proved to be far more popular than Lady Brassy’s Smalltown Sho group’s ‘Ignite Smalltown’ Christmas event, so much so that a waiting list for tickets is in operation.
Lady Brassy was observed to comment “Smalltown traders are very much looking forward to seeing what these benefits bring to us.”
At least one local trader has had the foresight to actually get involved and seek a benefit for themselves, rather than waiting for it to be handed to them on a plate. Popular cafe and award-winning bun makers, BusiBuns, have got onboard by offering cinema-goers an opportunity to purchase a selection of buns to enjoy whilst they watch the film.
“If the SS had been so inclined they could have worked with us to add their own offers or even produced promotional literature to be handed out at the event.” said an organiser, “As it is we worked with both Smalltown and Dullbridge Chambers of Trade.”
The event has been funded by the ‘Welcome Back Fund’ in conjunction with Sadgebore District Council, who specifically asked for event ideas, including Drive-in Cinemas in their remit to organisers.
