Thinking of going anywhere over the next few months? Don’t bother. You can’t.
Utility company, Somerset Water, are closing the roads around Smalltown to make life difficult for residents. Barrow and Bream will become inaccessible and Elizabeth Street in Smalltown will also be closed to traffic. Whilst shops and businesses in both areas will remain open you won’t be able to get to them easily, so it’s probably not worth trying.
Somerset Water have apologised for the disruption with a spokesdigger telling SomersetClive “This work is classed as ‘essential’, so residents will just have to suck it up.”
A 94 mile diversion is now in operation.
