After bad weather in Dullbridge led to the cancellation of the Play Away Day scheduled to take place at Pinnacle Park last week, the organisers and volunteers have worked their socks off to reschedule the event for today.
The Play Away Day is held to give parents who can’t afford the cost of a ticket for a film or a show at the White Elephant Enclosure the chance to give their children a treat, without having to fork out any of their hard-earned money.
Daisy Carp, Chair of the organising committee said “There will be loads of free activities for the children, including welding, flower-arranging, boxing and queuing for the toilets. It’s a great day out for all the family. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times – so please don’t just drop off your children while you disappear to spend the day in Jumbly Gardens.”
The event is expected to attract The Biggest Crowd, most of whom have mainly been sat at home twiddling their thumbs in recent weeks, with only a few making the effort to join events in Smalltown and Dullbridge as a Small Crowd.
