Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council has this week confirmed what a lot of residents in the area have suspected for a long time – the websites for the Town Council and the White Elephant Enclosure are rubbish.
Often the subject of criticism from residents of Smalltown and Dullbridge who have hoped to be able to easily find the latest news from SaD Town Council or easily access dates of future meetings, together with agendas, only to find themselves in a hopeless loop desperately trying to navigate the pages to find what they were looking for. This week the Town Council website has surpassed itself.
Smalltown resident Mr S Teflon told us “I visited the website because I wanted to download a new photo of a BeFuddled Party member for my dart board. I was scrolling down the page trying to find a link and couldn’t help but notice that of the top five news stories, four of them related to waste or recycling – in other words – rubbish.
Then I found myself reading Headmistress, Mayor and Dictator Cllr Kelsey Dullard’s recent essay. By the time I got to the end of that I found myself yawning continuously and I’d forgotten what I was looking for in the first place.”
Investigations by SomersetClive have found that the White Elephant Enclosure website isn’t much better. The hardly singing and definitely not dancing main page highlights four events taking place at the venue. A Boredom Project Workshop which was held on 5th July, a concert performance by the Smalltown Brass Band on 7th May, an enthusiastic plug for the Smalltown Literary Festival proudly proclaiming that it will be ‘Back in May 2023!’ and the Dullbridge Eisteddfod which took place in March.
People often say that the towns of Smalltown and Dullbridge are behind the times, old fashioned and outdated. It’s certainly true of the White Elephant Enclosure website.
