A large group of Time Travellers have once again pitched up in Smalltown, this time in the Jetty Street car park, although it is expected that they will soon relocate to their preferred position on the South Promenade, as soon as the All-New-Yet-Unimproved Somerset Cuonty Council get their act together and evict them from their current location.
Previously, Sadgebore District Council took responsibility for issuing the legal proceedings but, although the Time Travellers have been in situ for over a week and a half, Sadgebore didn’t bother to do anything, instead declaring that “This time next week it will be Somerset’s problem, so we can’t be bothered to do anything about it.
Although we are mildly concerned that if Somerset do manage to evict them then they may return four weeks ago and then it’ll be our problem.”
Town resident Mr MucGorm called SomersetClive to tell us “THEY’RE HERE AGAIN. PLEASE WILL SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN AND DO SOMETHING?” (Editor – Steve – I think you’ve got caps lock stuck on. Sort it out or I’ll be calling you into my office.)
A spokesperson for the All-New-Yet-Unimproved Somerset Cuonty Council said this week “We are aware of the situation and have issued the statutory notice required, asking them nicely if they wouldn’t mind leaving, but the trouble is they run rings around us. As fast as w evict them they either turn up again last week or reappear two weeks next Tuesday.
As the Bank Holiday weekend is coming up we don’t really want to ruin their holiday, so court action to remove them won’t take place until next Tuesday, by which time we expect even more of them will have turned up.”
Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council has confirmed that Headmistress and Mayor, Cllr Kelsey Dullard, is planning to pop in to visit the Time Travellers and share a lovely cup of Rosie Lee with the group. This may prove to be a better deterrent than legal action.
