Following the last Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council Drop-out meeting, held at Smalltown Library, which saw not even one Smalltown and Dullbridge resident turn up to meet Councillors and discuss items on the agenda for the next Town Council Committee meeting, this month’s meeting will be moved to Bellends cafe in the White Elephant Enclosure.
Headmistress and Town Mayor, Cllr Kelsey Dullard said “Our last Drop-Out meeting in the library saw very poor attendance, so we’ve decided to see if a change of venue will prove more popular.
This next session will be held in Bellends cafe at the White Elephant Enclosure and will coincide with one of the rare times that the WEE is open as part of our White Elephant Enclosure Warm Energy Endeavour (WEEWEE) when residents can come along to get warm.
We are hoping that, not only will we have a captive audience that we can pester for their views, but if any additional people do come along the Smalltown Culture and Arts Manager (SCAM) can add them into her user figures for January. Cups of tea will also be available.
However, once again we don’t really want to hear from residents so this time, although we have publicised this meeting on our website, we’ve cunningly put in the wrong dates.
Anyone looking at the website will notice that we are claiming that the Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council Full Council meeting will be held on 9th January, with our Drop-out meeting scheduled for 6th January, when in fact the Full Council will be meeting on 16th January and our Drop-out session is tomorrow.”
