Cheese Festival faces ‘Eggspensive’ criticism

Organisers of the ever-popular Smalltown Cheese Festival were stung by comments from Festival goers who complained about the price of Scotch Eggs at the event.

A resident, who contacted SomersetClive, said “I’m definitely not Squire Teflon and I’m not saying this to try and stir the pot but I was Egghast at the asking price of £9.40 for an egg wrapped in sausage and covered in breadcrumbs. I thought that was Eggcessive.”

Organiser Margo Farmhouse-Kitchener queried this, saying “I don’t remember any one selling Scotch Eggs at that price, they were three for a tenner, which really isn’t Ovarly Eggspensive for a locally produced product. When you take that into Eggcount that makes them a bargain!”

Co-organiser, Felicity Farmhouse-Kitchener, piped up “We had no complaints on the day. Not even from all the chickens who spent the day crossing the roads to get to the other Scotch Egg sellers.

Our event is a Shellebration of all things Cheese and we know that the good Yolks of Smalltown who came along had a most Eggcellent time.”

Smalltown Cheese Festival will return later in the year, giving Hengry residents a second cHence to fill their coops.
