The White Elephant Enclosure plays host to another Comedy Club Night on Friday where the 42 ticket holders can look forward to an intimate performance.
The cost of the Comedy Nights is still hidden deeply within the accounts, but regular payments of ‘deposits’ at £650 seem to suggest that this is the minimum cost of each show to Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council, with ticket sales accruing £546 for the latest outing, the majority of SaD Council Tax payers can once again look forward to subsidising the few to attend.
The situation on Saturday is even more dire, as The Greatest magician has failed to conjure up ticket sales of more than 37. Hardly surprising when they are priced at £24.94 each. The show has most likely been booked on a 70/30 split, with the WEE due to receive 30% of the £906 worth of current ticket sales or £272. Although the Greatest Magician will get the lion’s share of the income, the amount will be further reduced by the WEE’s add-on fees for a technician, cleaning and card charges. No wonder so many shows have cancelled this year.
