Smalltown’s Really Needy Lifesaving Association (RNLA) will be holding a meet and greet opportunity for Smalltown residents and visitors on Bank Holiday Monday, 8th May, at its headquarters in Jetty Street.
A spokesperson for the RNLA said “We will be asking people to come along to our ‘Put the Tea in Team’ event. This is a great chance for people to come along to meet the team, drink tea and donate lots of money to the RNLA.
We have invited Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Headmistress, Mayor and Dictator Cllr Kelsey Dullard along, because we understand she will go anywhere for a cup of tea.”
Anyone thinking of popping along to the event is asked to bring their own mug.
Not to be outdone, the Smalltown Area Ship, Hovercraft and Helicopter (SMASHH) rescue group has unveiled their own plans for their rival event, ‘Come Over Here, We’ve Got Beer’, which will be held at SMASHH headquarters on the Promenade in Smalltown on the same day.
A spokesperson for SMASHH said “We will be reminding people that we were here before the RNLA and are asking people to come along to support our ‘Come Over Here, We’ve Got Beer’ event. This is a great chance for people to come along to meet the team, drink beer and donate lots of money to SMASHH.
This will be a Mayor-free event and the only mugs around will be those people giving their money to the RNLA.”
