Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Mayor and Headmistress Cllr Kelsey Dullard said that she was “disappointed” that Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town and Sadgebore District Councillors had all used the word ‘disappointed‘ to express their disappointment at the news that the Re-Imagine Dullbridge bid (RIDBID) for government funding had failed.
Addressing residents Cllr Dullard said “I have to say that I am extremely disappointed that not one my councillors appears to own a thesaurus and were therefore unable to use an alternative word or phrase to sum up their disappointment.
It almost looks as if there has been some copying of homework going on, with not one of them using a different word, such as ‘upset’, ‘saddened’, or even ‘let down’ ‘to describe their feelings.
This shows a definite lack of imagination. The same sort of lack of imagination that went into producing the RIDBID in the first place.”
Cllr Dullard continued “Although it is extremely disappointing that this lovely regeneration project, which I know Cllrs Fencesitter and McCads worked jolly hard outside of school hours to produce, has not received government backing, but the plans still stand and we will continue to explore ways to put them into place.
We have plans to develop Dullbridge Train Station as a transport hub as part of our Climate Rescue Action Plan (CRAP). This RIDBID will not disappear, SaD Town councillors will be encouraged to use it to remind them where Dullbridge is.”
Residents of Dullbridge reacted with disappointment at the news that the RIDBID plans won’t be shelved. SomersetClive’s Dullbridge Correspondent, Nigella Garage, has been out and about in Dullbridge and will be producing a Special Report on her findings.
