This month at The Playtheatre in Easton-under-Water there’s a massive choice of entertainment, with over 20 evenings of various music, ballet, burlesque, comedy and children’s shows on offer.
At the Blitz Cinema in Smalltown you can look forward to catching all the latest cinematic releases including ‘Mr Teflonmania goes to Albania’ – the tale of a 1980s photocopier salesman who falls in love with a bottle of Whiskey and decides to gamble everything for the sake of this folly.
Ballet lovers can catch a live stream of the Regal Ballet’s Diamonte Celebration, screened live from the sold out Regal Opera House.
Children are well catered for with three different films screening this weekend alone. With ticket prices at only £4 this means a family of four can enjoy a treat for only £16.
Meanwhile at The White Elephant Enclosure there’s plenty of tickets left for tonight’s Prehistoric Show. Aimed at children, the doors open at 3.30pm, which doesn’t give members of the intended audience much time to get home from school and make it to the WEE in time, but then the Smalltown Arts and Culture Manager (SCAM) finishes work at 5.30pm and she needs to get home for her tea. With a family ticket priced at £37, it’s no wonder so many are left.
An alternative comedian will grace the stage mid-month and probably won’t be too popular with a Smalltown audience, who much prefer to see politician Anne Wibblewobble.
Towards the end of the month audiences can enjoy a tribute to the Norwegian band BABA Forever. Proving that Smalltown residents are firmly stuck in the past, this event is almost sold out. However, if you missed out on a ticket you can always pop over to the Playtheatre, where rival band Forever BABA will be performing the night before.
With a flower show and craft fair also scheduled this month this brings the total number of events at the WEE in November to five. Which is a vast improvement on previous months, but don’t expect the accounts to show a profit. They never do.
