With the cancellation of Smalltown Pride – Unique New Concept (SPUNC) as well as the rescheduled event Smalltown Pride on Orwell’s Farm (SPOOF), Founder, CEO, Director and Legend in his own Bedroom, Levi Smeller has announced that plans are afoot to bring SPUNC to a head in 2023.
“Hi guys! It’s me Levi and I’m delighted to announce that I’ve signed a contract with the White Elephant Enclosure to hold my SPUNC on Saturday 6th August 2023. All funding for the event is now in place and the WEE has also agreed that SPUNC can join forces with the WEE Friends registered charity.” Levi said in a 45 minute AceCrook Live presentation (since deleted).
“So no need to worry about me claiming to raise money for a charity which isn’t. Obviously the WEE Friends isn’t actually a registered charity yet, but that’s only because they were waiting for me to join them.”
Aside from the fact that someone has been looking at the wrong calendar, as the 6th August next year is a Sunday, this date will see SPUNC compete with the world famous Brighton Pride, which is scheduled to take place the same weekend.
When Levi announced the date for the 2022 SPUNC it was pointed out that it clashed with Taunton Pride, but at the time Levi was supremely confident that Taunton would change their date. They didn’t. Whether Brighton Pride will fear the threat of SPUNC and move their own dates in 2023 remains to be seen.
