Pugilist challenged to ‘punch up’

Headmistress and Town Mayor Cllr Kelsey Dullard took time out from her busy mourning schedule to visit Dullbridge Boxing Club at the weekend.

During her tour of the facilities she was introduced to local boxing champion Jason Straw, holder of the British Hitting People Hard boxing title.

Cllr Dullard gave a speech to the members and supporters praising them for the lovely work they do and then turned to Jason to ask “Where’s the tea?”

Jason looked confused and told her “Real fighters don’t drink tea!”

Cllr Dullard was observed to begin turning green and started ripping at her clothing. “No tea? No TEA? You’ve got me here under false pretences. I ALWAYS have a lovely cup of tea in return for my visit. Come on. I’ll have you.”

Swinging her fists in Straw’s direction she attempted to land a punch on his nose, but was caught and restrained by a number of club members who managed to calm Cllr Dullard down, however she remained unhappy at the lack of tea situation and told the assembled throng of members and supporters that she would be “Happy to take any of you on anytime. You’re not so tough. Name your date.”

Dullbridge Boxing Club’s Robert Angry has confirmed that he is setting up a return visit for Councillor Dullard, during which she will step into the ring with Jason Straw and the two will battle it out ‘old school style’ with the winner receiving Jason’s title belt and the Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council Mayoral chains of office.
