SomersetClive’s unstoppable reporter has continued their trawl through old files of unresolved Smalltown mysteries.
The latest case re-opened for investigation was the matter of the proposed Town Sign for George Street.
Scandal erupted in 2019 when Cllr Dick Trolley, then chairman of the Town Destruction Committee, declared that it “should never be spoken of again”
Having written off £9,400 of resident’s money, Smalltown & Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council has declined to investigate or elaborate further on this debacle.
Piecing together all the evidence going back almost seven years, SomersetClive has discovered the only one consistent factor concerning every meeting where the sign project was discussed. Through personnel changes and committee re-organisations, there was only one Councillor present throughout, to whom any blame can be attributed:
Cllr Dick Trolley.
Seems that Squire Teflon is not the only cause of SaD Town Council’s errors and omissions!
