As Sadgemore Council limps towards its extinction next year, presumably to justify its existence meanwhile, tender invitations have been issued to provide fun and games in Smalltown. Of course, there is no prospect of either fun or games for Dullbridge.
On the basis that Sadgebore cannot be bothered to organise fun, or games, itself, the Council prefers to get paid by local businesses for providing such services. It is little wonder that this attempt at risk transfer of seasonal activities has resulted in a dwindling seaside offer for Smalltown residents and visitors.
SomeesetClive thinks that Sadgebore must see providers of fun and games as mugs. After all, why would any business enter into the advertised three year contract to provide fun and games, with a Council being abolished in 14 months?
