Somerset Cuonty Council have launched a new campaign which aims to make streets and spaces safer for women and girls.
It’s been started to raise awareness and tackle sexual harassment and violence against women and girls.
A spokesbra said “We want to change perpetrator behaviour so from now on Squire Teflon will be placed under curfew between the hours of 12.30pm and 11.30am. By imposing this restriction we hope that women and girls will no longer be troubled by his misogynistic attitude and that it will discourage his inappropriate behaviour.”
“We have had complaints from members of the public about his messages on social media which often include ‘banter’-style conversations. By confiscating his electronic devices and only letting him out for an hour each day we hope to discourage his behaviour.”
SomersetClive contacted the Squire to ask for his views. He told us “I haven’t done anything wrong. It’s true – I do approach a lot of women, but only to ask them for protection from people who want to harm and bully me.”
