SaDTC have allegedly stopped sending out press releases or replying to questions and are hoping that the appointment of the new Smalltown Media Uproar Genius (SMUG) and creation of social media accounts, (which reach a very small minority of residents), will be sufficient to hide the truth of what goes on behind the closed doors of Hayloft Road. SMUG’s remit is to only mention the positive, so they won’t really have much to do.
The press blackout was imposed after a journalist upset the SaDTC Town Clerk by publishing something that she didn’t like. Revenge was swift – a diktat was issued declaring the journalist ‘persona-non-gratis’ and he is now unable to report on anything SaDTC related because no one will speak to him.
