During a SaD Council meeting yesterday, the Town Deterioration Committee agreed to give £1940 of further funding to the Smalltown Shops group for the Christmas lights switch on event of the century.
SS Supremo Squire Teflon told the meeting “I’m standing before you now, not as a Councillor or a friend, but as a member of the SS to ask for yet more money to ensure that ‘Ignite Smalltown’ is a success. I ask you to vote this request through with no further questions, because that’s what you do whenever I ask you to.”
The SS say the money will be spent on security; to prevent people from attending.
