The Same Old Smalltown group, which evolved from the Task Force for Economic and Tourism Advantage (TaFFETA), via the Funding Taskforce to Inject Life into the Economy (FuTILE), and the Town Bored, before choosing the SOS moniker, is inviting residents to pop along to the White Elep Enclosure on Sunday to see some of the ideas the group has come up with.
A spokesperson for SOS said “As it has now been almost two years since Sadgebore District Council first mooted the idea of setting up a group to come up with ideas to improve the Town centre to make it more attractive to visitors and residents, and almost eight months since we held our first meeting, we want to share our journey.
Everyone loves a journey, don’t they, and as a group we’ve had a couple of journeys around Smalltown already and hope to have a few more. We have jotted down a couple of ideas on brightly coloured post-it notes and these will be on display on Sunday, for residents to look at.
Apart from that we haven’t managed to achieve very much at all, but we want to invite people to come on the journey with us. If there is enough interest we may look at hiring a charabanc to take us on future journeys around Smalltown”
Residents are reminded that all visitors to the event will be counted four times under the Smalltown Culture and Arts Manager’s (SCAM) special system to increase the user numbers at the WEE.
