The Falafel Cafe, based in Smalltown’s Rhythm Method Church will be starting some free cookery classes.
The cookery classes will be open to all residents of Smalltown and Dullbridge and the Falafel Cafe’s Fanny Crabbock told SomersetClive “I’m really excited at the prospect of teaching residents the basics of cooking. I am going to start off by teaching people how to boil an egg, and the following week they will learn how to toast bread. We will then move on to more complex recipe ideas with a class on How to Make a Lovely Cup of Tea in week three.
As the weeks go on, I’ll be teaching residents how to prepare increasingly difficult dishes until they have the ability to host a dinner party.
I have some great exotic recipes which I’m looking forward to sharing, including one for a starter course of Prawn Cocktail – which I think will come as a novel surprise to people in the Smalltown and Dullbridge area. I know that it sounds rather complicated, but trust me – don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.”
Fanny has also agreed to share some of her recipes with SomersetClive readers, and we will be publishing these in a series of ‘cut out and keep’ recipe cards.
