Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council has appealed to residents of Dullbridge to “Please leave the Christmas Light in Jumbly Gardens alone”.
The appeal comes after the bulb was discovered to have been removed overnight, leaving the town in darkness.
“Someone has clearly removed the bulb, necessitating the Council to have to instruct someone to go out to purchase and fit a new bulb. This is going to cost us another £9.40 which will have to be financed by raising council tax in Dullbridge. We simply cannot afford to keep spending money on the town without recompense.
It may well be the case that the residents who frequent Jumbly Gardens prefer to conduct their nefarious business undercover of darkness, but we would ask that they refrain from removing the Christmas Light bulb and instead hide behind the tree.”
