Smalltown’s large Junk and Old Stuff shop is set to close and be replaced by two smaller shops, owner Scott Stevens has confirmed.
“It’s a huge shop” Mr Stevens told SomersetClive, “Far bigger than anyone needs in the current retail climate. I know some people, myself included, were hoping that a major chain such as Primarni would buy the property and set up in Smalltown, but that’s never going to happen. Smalltown isn’t big enough.“
Instead, once we’ve managed to get rid of all the junk and old stuff currently in the shop, we plan to convert the place into two smaller retail spaces.”
Mr Stevens hopes to be able to sell or rent the two new shop spaces, either to a pizza company, charity shop or hairdressers, but says that if there is no interest he will open his own pizza and charity shops instead.
