Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council has announced the first in a series of events which will form part of the council’s Climate Rescue Action Plan (CRAP)
A spokesperson said “After almost a year of talking CRAP we are ready to take the next step which will involve inviting residents of Smalltown and Dullbridge to listen to us talk CRAP.
Our first event will be held at the Community Hall in Smalltown and is aimed at gardeners and allotment holders in the area.
During our CRAP meetings we have come up with some ground-breaking new ideas to maximise the benefits of growing your own fruit and vegetables, these include:-
- Access cheaper food by growing your own fruit and vegetables. We are surprised that no one has thought of doing this before
- A seed swap, similar to the one recently held by the Our Dullbridge group, with residents being encouraged to swap seeds and young plants. We are surprised that no one has thought of doing this before.
- Distribute any surplus home grown food locally, perhaps by giving it away to friends and family. We are surprised that no one has thought of doing this before.
Over the coming months SaD Town Council will be organising and holding further meetings where they will share more CRAP ideas for saving the planet.
Some of the ideas to be promoted by Dictator Dullard as part of her CRAP initiative will be:- the cheapest way to make a cup of tea, how to sit in the dark, how to save money by not spending it, and how to teach your grandmother to suck eggs.
