Children in Dullbridge are invited to attend a ‘Make a Crown for the Mayor’ event taking place in Pinnacle Park today.
Organised by the Friends of Pinnacle Park (FOPP) children will be asked to decorate a crown, using a selection of materials available including paint, crayons and glitter.
A spokesperson for FOPP said “We originally thought that children would enjoy making a crown to help them celebrate King Henry IX’s Coronation in May.
Unfortunately Smalltown and Dullbridge Headmistress, Mayor and Dictator Cllr Kelsey Dullard got wind of our idea and has announced that she will be commandeering all crowns for her own use.
However, she has promised to judge all the crowns and a certificate will be given to the winner at a special ceremony to be held at the winning child’s school. Won’t that be exciting?”
The event takes place today from 11am and all children attending must be accompanied by an adult to ensure that there are no glue-based incidents.
