What’s On

At the White Elephant Enclosure

It’s good and bad news at the White Elephant Enclosure this month.

The Dullbridge Festival of Dance, Music and Drama will be taking over the venue this week, which will see plenty of people using the facility to watch the drama and dance sections of the competition. However the musical elements of the festival will be taking place at the Porland Community Hall in Dullbridge, so sadly it will be back to empty seats at the WEE.

The event is run on a hire basis, which means the money from ticket sales goes direct to the festival with the WEE only getting the basic hire rate.

The practically sold out boxing display run by the SoftLads Boxing Club is being held on a similar basis and, with tickets priced at either £30 or £40, will net a healthy income for the organisers, but not the WEE.

The rest of the month will see the usual mix of unpopular and poorly attended events organised by the WEE, including a tribute to a singer who has been dead for sixty years.

There are no words.
