More Smalltown censorship

The mystery of missing threads on Media Tycoon Mike Maxman’s award-winning (Ed – STEVE. I WON’T TELL YOU AGAIN. THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING. Stop mentioning his awards.) website has deepened after it emerged that a relatively inoffensive thread relating to buses has been removed without warning or explanation.

Posting on the forum on Wednesday Mick BusSpotter wrote “I am confused by the photograph of the No.69 bus which has been used to illustrate the new bus fares. The No.69 is clearly pictured opposite Mistress Bones ‘ Newspaper and Tat Emporium and yet, as everyone knows, the No. 69 doesn’t go anywhere near Smalltown, but instead follows a route from Fridgpond to Toy Town, stopping off to allow passengers to embark and disembark at Puntworth, North Smegerton, Thurpoxton, Barrowridge, Lungport, Curry Favour and Smellington.

The only bus which operates in Smalltown and which could be photographed outside the Newspaper and Tat Emporium would be the No.96.

Also, the bus shown is in the livery of SomersetBus. The No.96 service is run by BusSomerset.

Regular contributor NURK replied to the comment writing “Yes. I am equally confused by the use of this photograph. I have never known the No.69 to come anywhere near Smalltown and I can only assume that the website owner has deliberately posted this photograph to deliberately provoke bus spotters.

Overnight the thread vanished, presumed censored and readers once again took to the forum to register their dismay at what many believe to be blatent censorship.

What now? Why has my post been deleted?” Mick BusSpotter asked.

NURK responsed “Yes. Very strange. I don’t believe it broke forum rules.”

Readers have speculated that the decision to remove the thread may be connected in some way to the current dispute between Mike Maxman and Squire Teflon and may have its roots in Squire Teflon’s recent appointment as the Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council’s Bus Champion’ but this has not been confirmed.
