SaD Council’s Town Deterioration Committee have decided to undertake further sea front maintenance under the Smalltown Degeneration scheme.

Work is scheduled to begin in this exposed and harsh environment. In January.

However, the Committee are also looking for suggestions for things that need repairing and have appealed for help from the public.

A spokesperson said “So much has fallen into a state of disrepair that we simply cannot decide where to start. After years of neglect, with all funding redirected to the White Elephant Enclosure, it’s obvious that the place has gone to rack and ruin.

We need to start by making small repairs in the area, because doing any major work will only highlight the overall dinginess of the town. We are hoping residents will come up with some simple ideas for things that can be fixed with a roll of duct tape and some string.”
