Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council (SaDTC) voted unanimously to accept a proposal from the Head of Humanities, Cllr Eugenie Sherry, to hold surgeries in the towns.
Speaking at the SaDTC meeting on Monday, Cllr Sherry said “Given the inability of the majority of residents to get an appointment at either Dullbridge or Smalltown Medical Centres, I think we should set up our own surgeries so that residents can share, in advance of our meetings, their opinions on local matters.”
Squire Teflon pointed out that there may be a flaw in the plan, given that no one knows what will be discussed in a meeting until an agenda is issued and traditionally the release of those agendas is usually only a few days before the meeting.
However, Headmistress Kelsey Dullard countered “That may be how things were done in your time, but I plan to change all that. Organisation is the key. I expect to see all councillors attending meetings with the correct equipment in their pencil cases and to have completed all their homework.
I have discussed the implementation of a new timetable with the new Smalltown Head Administration Guru (SHAG) and have her agreement that agendas will now be released at least six months before the meetings are held.
Whilst this may appear to be a bit tricky, as it relies in us being able to predict so far in advance the matters we may need to discuss, we are delighted to confirm that we have secured the services of Smalltown clairvoyant, psychic phenomenon Mystic Mick to help us achieve this.”
