As The White Elephant Enclosure looks forward to its first screening of an old children’s film next week, Smalltown’s Blitz Cinema – known for showing the latest films for both children and adults – has announced plans to begin screening live music and theatre events.
Stealing a march on the Smalltown Culture and Arts Manager (SCAM), Debby Karmary, the Blitz has signed a deal which will see them show live music, together with live broadcasts from the Royal houses of opera and ballet.
Blitz Cinema owner, Scott Patrick, said “We are delighted to be able to bring some top-notch entertainment to Smalltown. The SCAM tried to steal our business by showing films, so we are playing her at her own game. Our first screening will feature the popular music combination BestLife, screened live from their sell-out show at Wembley. Cinema goers in Smalltown will be able to see the show from our comfy chairs and enjoy a selection of traditional cinema treats – including popcorn.”
SomersetClive contacted the WEE for comment and a spokesperson for the WEE said “I’m really sorry, Debby can’t talk to you at the moment. She’s alternating between being incandescent with rage and crying.”
