Expensive play area opens

The new playground equipment

Sadgebore District Council has announced that a revamp of the toddler play area in St. Jude’s Way in Smalltown is now complete.

Sadgebore spokesperson, Blair Stagg, confirmed the news saying “Yes. Honestly. I know it sounds incredible but we really have spent £15,000 on those two small pieces of playground equipment.

You probably think that we didn’t get a very good deal but we can assure you that £15,000 is the going rate for a swing and a slide when purchased by a Council.

These pieces of play equipment are environmentally friendly as they have been created using recycled empty cans of White Lightning cider, gathered from Jumbly Gardens in Dullbridge, and several pairs of Sadgebore Leader Cllr Duncan McGoats’ old Y-fronts. Using old rubbish in this way always costs more than using new materials.”

The play area is now open and adults using the facilities must be accompanied by a child.
