More SaD stupidity

Members of the Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council Finance and Misappropriation Committee were last night due to discuss a proposal from Dictator Dullard’sTop Secret Dullbridge Reimagined Working Group to install a bicycle shed at Dullbridge train station.

In a report to members of the F&M Committee Dictator Dullard proposed using some of the Community Infrastructure Levy money, to be from developers of the Brue Farm site to use the ‘old ticket office at Dullbridge Station as the base for a community run bicycle hire shop‘.

Residents of Dullbridge immediately queried the plan with several asking “Where is this old ticket office? Is Dictator Dullard referring to the bus shelter?”

The cost of the project will include £500 for ‘Professional Support’, probably to cover the cost of sandwiches and biscuits for the unnamed members of the Dullbridge Reinvention Working Group, and a further £4000 for a study to decide if the proposal will work.

Ellen Proves, Leader of the Dullbridge Liberation Front said “I can save them the £4500. This idea is pathetic and exactly the sort of thing we’ve come to expect from SaD Town Councillors. I see that the plan is to use free forced labour to man the bike shed. I can’t see that being popular with the residents of Dullbridge, they feel they are routinely ignored by SaD Town Council, so why would anyone expect them to help when they get nothing in return?

Residents of both Smalltown and Dullbridge were quick to point out that the idea of a bicycle hire shop is simply stupid as anyone who wants to cycle to and from the station is guaranteed to already have a bicycle and would have no need to hire one.

SomersetClive would like to point out that it is this sort of ridiculous idea and waste of money that led to the recent strike by members of SCANDALOUS (SomersetClive Against News Detailing All the Lies and OUtrageous Stupidity). Now perhaps residents will understand why we refused to attend last night’s F&M Committee meeting.
