More Love in a Smalltown – where is it?

Readers have been contacting SomersetClive to ask what has happened to our serialisation of journalist Steve Gull’s epic follow up to his world famous ‘Love in a Smalltown’, ‘More Love in a Smalltown’.

We spoke to Steve and he told us ‘Unfortunately copies of my new book have been withdrawn from sale by the publishers, due to a small legal issue spotted within the pages.

Translators working on the Albanian version of the book noticed that the names of two brands of Albanian Whiskey were mentioned in the book and both companies involved have strongly objected to seeing their products linked to Squire Teflon.

The manufacturers strongly refute the allegation and claim that the insinuation that consuming excess amounts of their Whiskey could lead to late night drunken rants and/or supply problems amounts to a slur and the publishers of my book have had no option other than to pulp all the copies and ask me to rewrite the offending chapters, making no reference to brand names.

I am now rewriting Chapters 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 46, 47, 49, 50 and the index, to remove all mention of the Albanian Whiskey brands concerned.”
