What’s on

The attempt by theTop Secret Consultant employed by Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council WEE Mismanagement Committee to increase use of the White Elephant Enclosure is starting to filter through, with a plethora of entertainment options on offer over the coming months.

The first of these was held last night, with an incredibly highbrow ballet performance, which appealed to approximately 58 people prepared to pay the £20 ticket cost.

Unfortunately the newly employed Smalltown Culture and Arts Media Promotion Individual (SCAMPI), May Tricks, struggled to promote the event and limited coverage to the WEE AceCrook page, with a post which attracted the attention of three people.

Tomorrow night at the WEE will see a performance of ‘The Haunting’, a dramatic retelling of what will happen to anyone who crosses Dictator Dullard or Deputy Dictator Sherry. Brought to the WEE by professional company ‘ConArtistsRUs’, your theatre critic can’t help but wonder if the producers of the show are also friends of the Top Secret Consultants.

So far only 69 of the available 194 tickets have been sold. The poor sales may be linked again to the SCAMPI with only a single AceCrook post, which must have taken all of five minutes to produce, appearing so far in the media to promote it.

It could be worse though. A planned popular musical event, scheduled for Saturday night and featuring a tribute to more modern musical talents such as Little Fix, Barriana Brande, and a couple of other acts you will struggle to name, has been quietly cancelled due to really, really, really poor ticket sales.

It seems that, despite the variety of shows on offer, Smalltown and Dullbridge residents refuse to be attracted.

Meanwhile, over at the Blitz Cinema, Padraig Irishh will be continuing with the recently released Tailor Nightshift film, as well as a selection of films designed to appeal to everyone from children to horror fans.

The South West’s premier live music venue, The Old Jetty, will have a night of cuontry music. The only positive thing to say about that is that entry is free.
