Members of the Smalltown Pantomime Society are making an attempt to enter the record books for the ‘Longest Running Pantomime’.
Currently the world record is held by Skegless Pantomime Society with their panto ‘Babes in the Hood‘ which ran for 194 days from December 1906.
Smalltown Pantomime Society are hoping that their entry ‘Brother Goose‘ which, according to the White Elephant Enclosure website, began on 27th January 2023 and will run until 28th January 2024, giving a run of 366 days, will be a strong contender to take the crown.
Should the Smalltown Pantomime Society be successful in their attempt it is rumoured that they may make a play for the world record for the longest continuous run at one venue, currently held by the Christie Agapanthus play ‘The Housetrap‘ , which ran for more than 21 years at the Toytown Public House.
