Residents in Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) have come out of the woodwork to level a number of allegations against the owner of Mosley’s Cafe in Smalltown Main Street.
Cafe owner, Enoch Mosley, who held an English Nationalist afternoon in the cafe in February, is alleged to have been defrauding and scamming people for a number of years with schemes ranging from not paying for goods ordered, through taking money for building work not carried out, right up to befriending women and ‘borrowing money’ from them which has never been repaid.
There have also been allegations that he has sold non-existent vehicles from a previous garage business as well as receiving money from customers after he had promised to carry out work on their vehicles and didn’t, before closing the business and vanishing. .
Mosley, who also operates Mosley’s Transport Cafe in Dullbridge, has recently returned from the Dalstonbury Festival – the inspiration for his latest scam.
After Mr Mosley learnt that a small group of SaD residents were interested in volunteering for the event he offered to put them in contact with someone he knew who could help them. Then, posing as a female Dalstonbury Festival Volunteer Co-ordinator, Mosley exchanged several emails with the would-be volunteers, offering them free entrance to the Festival in exchange for a few shifts cleaning the site.
“It all seemed totally above board”, one of the volunteers told SomersetClive, “The ‘lady’ explained in her email what we would be expected to do and gave us directions to the campsite. We packed everything into our cars and set off.”
On arrival the group found that, rather than being on a campsite within the Dalstonbury Festival boundary, they were actually in a field – which had even less amenities than the Dalstonbury camping fields – several miles away on the outskirts of the town. They had been assured that entry tickets and car parking passes to the site would be given to them once they were all set up.
Having erected their tents the group tried to contact the ‘lady’ who had been their volunteer contact with no success. So the group contacted Mr Mosley for help instead. It was at this point that the group realised something wasn’t right, however rather than apologise for his deceit, or give an explanation for his behaviour, he instead offered to smuggle them into the Festival – IF They paid him £250 each to do so. As the group numbered around 10 people this would have netted Mr Mosley quite a tidy sum.
Having talked it over amongst themselves, and not wanting to get into Dalstonbury via illegal methods, the group decided to pack up and spend the week at a campsite in Hevon instead.
Meanwhile, residents in the area who have been defrauded by Mr Mosley are now sharing their stories with each other on social media, which has led to the Mosley’s Cafe AceCrook page being taken down, after receiving hundreds of negative comments.
SomersetClive attempted to contact Mr Mosley for his side of the story, but he appears to have done his famous ‘vanishing act’ again, although a member of staff at his cafe told us “He will be back at some point. He just needs to wait until the heat had died down and he’s worked out the best excuse.
Don’t worry though, he’s done this sort of thing hundreds of times before and as soon as he’s come up with some sort of story about how he was abducted by aliens who put a fake Mr Mosley in his place, I’m sure he will be back.”
A large number of local residents are greatly looking forward to his return.
