Transport and Tea

A farm near the village of Bark is holding its annual fundraising event for Smalltown Area Ship, Hovercraft and Helicopter (SMASHH) on Sunday.

Now in its third year the ‘Transport and Tea’ event will be hoping to raise lots of money for the charity. Over £494 was raised following a collection amongst visitors to the event and it is hoped that even more will be donated this year.

Organiser Glyndon Cow said “We’d kindly ask that people don’t share this information with Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council, because we know that driving is on their list of things to outlaw, as part of their Climate Rescue Action Plan (CRAP).

We are hoping to raise a good sum of money which will be donated to SMASHH to help the replenish their biscuit tin. They do so much work keeping our beaches safe by keeping people off them and this is our opportunity to give something back.

Members of the SMASHH crew have had to exist on Garibaldi biscuits over the last few months, and it’s unfair to expect anyone to have to do that. With any luck will be able to raise enough money to buy them some chocolate digestives, but if not, ordinary digestives will be purchased.”

A SMASHH spokesman said “This is the third year the event has been held and so the third year that we trot out our usual annual statement – a big thank you goes to organiser Glynda Cow for all his work on setting up this event, we hope it will be a great success.”
