The Smalltown Workers’ Collective is due to hold its first event this Saturday in the Smalltown Puritan Church hall.
The group, formed in response to the organisers of the Smalltown Small Town Small Market announcement that they would no longer be holding a small town small market in Smalltown, are hoping to see some of their regular customers visit them in the new location.
Spokesperson for the group Jean Bean said “I’m not the only spokesperson for the group. We are all equal here, so we are taking it in turns to speak. Today is my turn, but who knows who it will be tomorrow.
We are delighted to have been able to cut out the fat capitalist middleman, who took our money but gave us nothing except a patch of tarmac in Smalltown Main Street. Now that we are working together we are operating with a different level of control.
This will be our first attempt to sell our wares direct to the public and we really hope they will join us in our new non-capitalist venture. Vive La Revolution.”
Amongst the traders at the event will be:-
- Mark’s Animal Farm Pig Products – Finest quality sausages.
- Somerset Farm Tractors – We import and sell the full range from the Vladimir Motor-Tractor Plant.
- Aimee’s Red Flags – supplier of flags and bunting of all sizes, only available in red.
- Midsomer Murderers – got a problem you need sorting? Try Midsomer Murderers, highest quality guns for hire. No questions asked.
- Metal for You – Hand forged hammers and sickles.
