Close on 10 people gathered to welcome the summer solstice at Smalltownhenge yesterday morning.
Druids and pagans joined a colourful mix of ancient mythical hippies to mark the longest day of the year at the ancient mystical site in S&M carpark in Smalltown.
On the solstice, the sun rises behind the entrance to the car park, and rays of light are channelled into the central part of the roof of the S&M store. Many people travel from around Smalltown and Dullbridge to celebrate at the site.
Smalltownhenge’s ancient mystical distinctive formation aligns to both the midsummer sunrise and the midwinter sunset. The site is also at the centre of 94 ancient leylines – ancient mystical energy lines which criss-cross the globe, with the epicentre in Smalltown.
For druids, modern-day ancient mystical beings linked to the ancient mystical Celtic religious order, Smalltownhenge has a centuries-long importance, and they were seen performing ancient mystical dance rituals around the car park dressed in their ancient mystical traditional white robes.
This year, the summer solstice at Smalltownhenge started at 7pm Tuesday and ran through to 8amWednesday. For this one night, visitors are allowed to spend the night inside the car park without buying a ticket, a luxury normally only afforded to members of the traveller community.
Smalltownhenge is a symbol of British ancient mystical culture and history and remains one of the country’s biggest tourist draws, despite the seemingly permanent traffic jams on the nearby M94 motorway, a popular route for motorists traveling to and from the southwest of England.
Smalltownhenge, one of the world’s most famous ancient mystical monuments and a World Heritage Site, was built on the flat lands of Smalltown in stages starting 5,000 years ago, with the unique ancient mystical building erected in the late Neolithic period about 2,500 BCE. Some of the bricks, the so-called redstones, are known to have come from the Dullbridge Brickworks, nearly 1.5 miles away, with the clay dug up from the area which is now Pinnacle Park. The origin of the rest of the ancient mystical materials used to construct the building is unknown, with some historians claiming it likely came from Q&B, whilst others claim it originated in Twickes.
The site’s ancient mystical meaning has been the subject of vigorous debate, with some theories seemingly more outlandish than others.
One of the more outlandish theories is that the site was intended to become the location of Squire Teflon’s close-friend and employer Mistress Bones’ World Record Breaking Olympic Sized Ice Rink and Penguin Pool, although others have dismissed this saying that the historical records show that the Ice Rink was much smaller and was actually located across the road in a much smaller car park.
Others have suggested that the Former Mayor of Smalltown and Dullbridge, His Royal Highness, Lord Admiral Emperor Nelson Jones, First Duke of Smalltown MBE, OBE and Knight of the Living Dead could park his car opposite the Really Needy Lifesaving Association’s (RNLA) headquarters whenever he needed to attend important business meetings in the town.
We will probably never know the real reason that our ancient mystical ancestors built Smalltownhenge.
