First MYC meeting held

Smalltown and Dullbridge’s new Mayor’s Youth Council met for the first time last week at Queen Ethelred’s School in Dullbridge and SaD Town Headmistress, Mayor and Dictator Cllr Kelsey Dullard went along to tell them what she expects from the new group.

Dictator Dullard said afterwards: “I was delighted to be present at the inaugural (for those of you who don’t have a good grasp of the English language that means first) meeting of the new Smalltown and Dullbridge Mayor’s Youth Council.

It is the start of an exciting time when the Mayor’s Youth Council will decide and drive their own agenda, based on what I tell them they should consider to be important.

I look forward to hearing what their focus will be this coming year, but I fully expect it to focus on ways to involve young people in Mayor Youth Climate Rescue Action Plan (MYCRAP), rather than ideas to improve local amenities and provide fun things to do for the youth of Smalltown and Dullbridge. This is all about education and not frivolity.

This will add a new dimension to the Town Council as we work together to serve the community. We will be encouraging them to put forward their ideas to SaD Town Councillors, so that we can completely ignore them.”

Member of the new Youth Town Council, Sureleigh Temple, said “I dunno what it’s about. I was making my way down a corridor to the toilet, when I got diverted into a classroom. Inside I found five other girls who had also found their way to the toilet blocked.

We were told that we could only use the facilities if we signed a piece of paper the Smalltown and Dullbridge Smalltown Administration Deputy (SADSAD) put in front of us.

Suddenly we’ve all found ourselves members of the Mayor’s Youth Council. We’ve been given extra homework by Dictator Dullard and she has told us if we don’t complete it we will be in detention.

It’s not fair.”
