Business Tycoon calls for Resignation

Smalltown Business Tycoon, Lex Turkey, has this week called for the Headmistress and Mayor of Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council, Kelsey Dullard, to immediately resign her role.

Talking to SomersetClive Mr Turkey expressed his frustration with the Mayor and her BeFuddled Party cohorts “They have absolutely no idea of protocol and make mistake after mistake after mistake. Cllr Dullard in particular seems to be under the misapprehension that she is in charge and can act without regard to anyone.

It won’t be long before she’s imposing a regulation uniform and demanding that we all ask permission to use the lavatories. She needs to go now.”

The move comes after Cllr Dullard revealed that she had been in secret talks with the All-New-Yet-Unimproved Somerset Cuonty Council leader, Cllr Phil Crivens, the ANYUSCC Branch Manager of Trees and a single unnamed resident to determine the future of a tree located at the junction of Vicarage and Barrow Road.

The position of Mayor of Smalltown and Dullbridge is a purely civic role, with the Mayor being the forward-facing face of SaD Town Council, and the only responsibilities being to carry out ceremonial duties and chair Full Town Council meetings.

One thing that a SaD Town Council Mayor cannot do is make decisions about council business. Only a Mayor democratically elected by voters has a mandate to do that.

As it would appear that this is EXACTLY what went on in her behind-closed doors meeting, it seems that Cllr Dullard has indeed over-stepped the mark.

When the fate of the tree was discussed during the SaD the Full Town Council meeting on Monday night, Cllr Dullard presented a fait accompli, having already decided what was going to happen and without giving anyone chance to voice any opposing views or alternative suggestions.

Defending Cllr Dullard’s actions, former SaD BeFuddled Party Leader, Cllr Fencesitter said “Anyone could have come along to the meeting. If Cllr Dullard had told anyone that it was taking place. The fact that she didn’t invite the public to attend and didn’t share the date and location of the meeting shouldn’t have precluded anyone from taking part.”

Clive says: We may have left the SaD Town Council dominance of Squire Teflon behind us, but it seems that we are now entering an era of BeFuddled Party incompetence, which must not be allowed to continue.
