Headmistress of Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council, Cllr Kelsey Dullard, is encouraging residents to join a newly formed group.
As part of their Climate Rescue Action Plan (CRAP) initiative to save the multiverse, SaD Town Council will be organising a number of different groups with the aim of talking about things.
The first of these is the new ‘Green Tea Group’. Cllr Dullard said “I would like to thank our great team of lovely residents who have come forward to form the wonderful talking group that will drive forward lots of talking about the benefits of drinking lovely green tea.
Although I much prefer a cup of proper tea, with milk and sugar, I know that some people often extol the virtues and health benefits of green tea and those are some of the things we will be talking about.
We will be holding regular meetings to talk about stuff, because it is good to talk. One of the first things we will be talking about is the need to reduce the single use of mugs and tea cups.
Every time a resident of Smalltown or Dullbridge has a lovely mug or cup of tea in a nice cafe it is highly likely that the mug or cup will be washed after just a single use. This is a waste of both water and energy.
To combat this waste we will be encouraging residents to carry their own lovely mug or cup with them wherever they go. This lovely mug or cup can be used in any cafe in Smalltown or Dullbridge this eradicating the need for frequent washing.
This is just the first of many wonderful ideas which will be talking about in our new group. Our small group currently has a combination of councillors, volunteer washer-uppers and a cafe owner who will bring a great deal of useful talking to our work.
We would like to hear from any lovely people who may have experience of talking and would love to invite them along to our next meeting. Please bring your own lovely mug or cup.”
