SaD Councillors agree to think

Some six and a half years after Former Mayor of Smalltown and Dullbridge, His Royal Highness, Lord Admiral Emperor Nelson Jones, First Duke of Smalltown MBE, OBE and Knight of the Living Dead left this earth Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council has finally remembered the legacy left in his will to Smalltown.

It was Former Mayor of Smalltown and Dullbridge, His Royal Highness, Lord Admiral Emperor Nelson Jones, First Duke of Smalltown MBE, OBE and Knight of the Living Dead’s last request that the town honour his passing by erecting a new Town Clock in his memory and he left a sum in his will to facilitate this.

At the recent Smalltown and Dullbridge Town Council Town Unimprovements Committee Meeting Councillors agreed that they really should get a move on and think about the possibility of purchasing the clock, before residents in the area forget who Former Mayor of Smalltown and Dullbridge, His Royal Highness, Lord Admiral Emperor Nelson Jones, First Duke of Smalltown MBE, OBE and Knight of the Living Dead was.

A SaD Town Council spokesperson said “We don’t like to rush decisions. We much prefer to take all the time in the world to think about things, rather than actually do something, especially as there’s a good chance that we may forget that we ordered it at some point in the future. Then Councillors will have to think about agreeing to never mention it again.”

At the time of his passing the money was enough to buy a large solid gold clock, which was to be placed in a prominent position somewhere in Smalltown, however, due to ever-rising inflation and the Cost of Living Crisis it is now thought that a small Mickey Mouse alarm clock may be all that is within budget.
