Lady Brassy of Easton-under-Water and Very Important Member of the Smalltown Shops (SS) group has issued an updated list of shops in Smalltown to remind residents that Smalltown has shops.
The original list, which mentioned the shops in George Street, now includes shops in Main Street and beyond and is available to view on the SS AceCrook page.
However, eagle-eyed readers quickly spotted that the list had an omission – Lady Brassy had forgotten to include her SS co-conspirator, Mistress Bones, Newspaper Emporium and Tat Shop.
Responding to the comments Lady Penelope laughed it off, saying “That’s hilarious. I was so desperate to mention my own shop that I overlooked the Tat Shop. It’s easily done when there are so many proper shops to list.”
Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) BeFuddled Town Councillor Banish Barracuda took careful note of the list, commenting “The vast majority are independent shops.”
Lady Penelope replied to his astonishing level of astuteness saying “Well spotted. That’s actually the whole point of the list. I can tell you are a Councillor, because nothing gets past you, does it?”
Several other businesses in the area then also pointed out that they had been left off the list, which kept Lady Brassy busy editing the list for the rest of the day.
