With only four days to go before The Mistress’ Chateau Park Bank Holiday Jamboree and Fate Worse Than Death (formerly known as the Incredibly Successful Hospital Fete) was due to take place, the event has been officially cancelled.
As reported exclusively in SomersetClive on 18th August unofficial rumours were rife that the event had been cancelled after several stallholders were advised by the organisers not to bother turning up.
The news has now been confirmed in a press release which has been published on media tycoon, Mike Maxman’s Smalltown News website, although it is buried some way down the main page.
Blaming “uncontrollable circumstances” the official statement reads “We had hoped that we wouldn’t have to make this announcement and instead hoped that the whole thing would go away without us having to say anything, but it seems that people have been asking questions.
It’s down to a number of things which are out of our control this year, but we will be back next year and have booked the gardens to hold the date. We are sorry for any inconvenience.”
SomersetClive understands that some of the things which are out of control include Squire Teflon’s sex life, a possible house move and the fact that Mistress Bones can’t be bothered to organise the event.
