What’s on

At the White Elephant Enclosure.

If you don’t fancy seeing Ann Wibblewobble at the White Elephant Enclosure this evening (and let’s face it – who does?), then why not pop along and join a puppet workshop in the morning.

Master puppeteers Squire Teflon and his close friend Mistress Bones will be demonstrating their puppet controlling skills during a performance of ‘The Councillors of Smalltown and Dullbridge’.

Based on the tale of four abandoned and unelected Councillors seeking a new start, the show celebrates life outside Hayloft Road Palace. The councillors – Bodge, Pennyfarthing and Barking (who all declined the offer to stand for election again), join forces with Cllr Trolley (who stood but wasn’t reelected), all decide to go out into the big wide world to see if they can survive without the Squire telling them what to do.

After a scary experience at the job centre they abandon their quest and instead resolve to live together under a hedge in Pinnacle Park. It’s a joyful moral tale of what can happen if you cross the Squire with some great characters brought to life with life-sized puppets, as the ex-Councillors take to the stage to re-create their roles as members of Smalltown and Dullbridge (SaD) Town Council.

Tickets for the performance are priced at £94.00 each, with 25 percent of the proceeds going to support ex-Councillors in need.
