Sadgebore District Council have confirmed that the largest car park in Smalltown will be closed for a week as resurfacing work is carried out.
Sadgebore have directed visitors and residents to alternative sites during this period, including the availability of spaces in a non-existent car park. A spokesperson said “Alternative parking will be available in the Main Street/Lynmouth Street car park during this time.”
Eagle-eyed readers will remember that the Lynmouth Street car park was renamed several years ago and that the signage now refers to it as ‘Old Terminal Road Car Park’. However it appears that, despite Sadgebore agreeing to the name change and providing the signs, they have forgotten all about it.
For the avoidance of doubt SomersetClive can confirm that this is the same car park which played host to the Smalltown Shops (SS) ‘Christmas Extravaganza With All The Bells On and Ignite Smalltown’ event and was also the site of the world-famous ice rink.
