Just down the road from Smalltown and Dullbridge, the town of Fridgepond have announced that their annual ‘Festival of Woke’ will take place on the same day as the Smalltown Christmas Light Switch On/Ignite Burnham.
The Festival of Woke is set to appeal to snowflakes everywhere as among the main attractions will be the switch on of the lights, which this year are being powered by hot air provided by the Leader of Sadgebore District Council, Cllr Goat.
Vegan food will be available to purchase and a variety of environmentally-friendly products will also be on sale throughout the day. Organisers say visitors will be able to stock up on reusable toilet roll, wind turbines and Fair-trade sombreros at the event.
Watch out for the appearance of Mother Christmas sometime during the day!
UPDATE
It has just been announced that the Sombrero Stall has been cancelled by the organisers, due to complaints about ‘cultural appropriation’. Apparently there are no Mexicans in Fridgepond.
