Shock in Smalltown

In a first for Smalltown it has been revealed that the former MA8s dive bar and bistro has been granted permission by Sadgebore District Council for a change of use from a licensed premises to a shop, as opposed to the other way around.

The applicant and owner of the premises had written in a letter accompanying the application “I know that this may come as a huge surprise to Councillors, but Smalltown is currently overrun with cafes, bars and restaurants and I believe that it’s time to try something new. I would like to propose opening a shop on the site instead.”

Although the owner is currently remaining tight-lipped as to the identity of a new tenant it is believed that the premise will not be the site of a new hairdressers, charity shop or estate agents. Another first for Smalltown.
